The physical body

Tiv Nat

What is a physical body? The body is merely an object. It is a form of existence far too impure to store the gods within us called souls. Now you will remember… Bloodstained history! Material greed. Hunger. Sexual desire. Desire to dominate. Desire for fame. Humanity. From the physical body, all the desires are born. From the human ego will never disappear as long as desire remains present. Humans will continue to fight to fulfill their bodies’ desires and it will never end. There is no future! You must awaken. Awaken your soul. Watch television!

Blocks of life

Pictures can be beautiful and profound. This isn’t a picture, but a video of the same aspect. Absolute beauty. It feels as though its speaking to me…

Milkman vs Mailman

Ever wondered what would it be like if the milkman and mailman got into a fight? Well now is the time to stop wondering and start watching.

Serious Sam HD: The First Supermercial!

With Serious Sam HD coming around the corner, advertisements are the first to come out. MAKE MY SERIOUS SAM HD!!

Cosplay

Halloween is around the corner and it’s about time to start thinking about what be for the special occasion. For the past 3 years I’ve been dressed up as a woman. Wore a pink waitress outfit with a blonde wig and it’s about time to move on.

For this year I’ve come to 3 different choices.

 anti-sora

Anti Sora from Kingdom Hearts

Cloud

As far as I know, Im leaning towards Cloud, but I have time to decide. Can’t wait!

The Terror of Toyland

Artist: Dan Deacon

Song: “Paddington Ghost

Rating: C

I suppose this video provides its viewer a visual response to a question indie fans have long struggled with: “What the fuck is a Paddington Ghost?”

It answers this question with Tootsie Pop ghosts, cheap hand-crafted backdrops and Beanie Babies. There’s something to be respected about putting so much effort into simplicity but the Dan Deacon puppet at 2:12 (whoops, did I ruin it?) is an unwelcome surprise.

Aquatic Language

I watched BLAME!today and it was….. alright? The 37 minute movie had animation that was wonderful, amazing, and fluid. The problem was that it made no sense. Kind of liked it for that reason, but at the same time I really couldn’t get into it as much as I hoped for. In the process, I encountered a different anime.

This “less than 10 minute” movie leaves your mind full and compelled. It doesn’t need to be longer, though some would agree longer would be nice, but that’s just being greedy.

EOTO

Went to an awesome concert last night. It’s sad to say that it was my first concert I’ve ever attended.

Featuring EOTO and guests Vibesquad and Big Gigantic, I had no idea what was in store for me. As a lover for music I wasn’t too worried, as long as it has no relation to country music (sorry!). EOTO (pronounced like Kyoto without the “K”) is an electronic jam band consisting of Jason Hann and Michael Travis and they perform only in live venues. All of their performances are completely improvised. EOTO means beautiful sound in Japanese. Their CD Elephants Only Talk on Occasion, confused people and was thought as the meaning behind EOTO, but Travis confirmed their actual name is End Of Time Observatory.

Jason Hann is a percussionist for The String Cheese Incident, an American jamband from Boulder, Colorado.

The venue itself, Mishawaka Amphitheatre, has the most unique and “bomb” setup. It’s located in the middle of the mountains so all you see is nature all around you, plus theirs a river right next to it so you can… use the bathroom or just chill while jamming to the music. I didn’t get the chance to take any pictures, which is something I’m regretting at the moment, but their will be another day. I do wish I went to more live concerts after going to EOTO. I’ve been missing out way too much. It’s not too late! Better late than never I always say!

Funny for the Week 4

Danny MacAskill

I used to skateboard and I thought it was difficult to do anything other than ride the board itself. I can’t imagine trying to do tricks with something that’s the size of a human body, like a bike. Well Danny MacAskill defeats that with skill. “Skill is my middle name!” Ain’t that the truth (kinda)

Dub FX

I’ve seen some pretty good beat boxers out there, but this one tops them all. He turns his beats from his own throat and mouth to create something that sounds like a band. Using looping technology, his beats can be used as background, bass, and musical instruments. Not only are his beats top notch, his voice is unbelievable. He can sing, and not only limited to, reggae, punk, rap, and much more.  His time and dedication is clearly seen with all the work he creates. He calls his work Psychedelic / A’cappella / Trip Hop

Truly an amazing talent, or perhaps just has a huge love for music.

This first clip is one of my favorites. Electronic reggae.

This clip is him singing as if it were a duo. Both high pitch and low pitch “rappers”

Check out his website for more information HERE

First person shooter disease

This is a serious problem that people need to be aware of. Im afraid this will be the next swine flu…

Computer Desk (literally)

An idea that should’ve been done a long time ago. It makes sense, saves space, and plain out spells “cool.” After seeing this I feel the need to do the same, a new future project to build my very own “computer desk.” If only I had the money.

Dr. Tran is not a real doctor… or is he?

I was a huge fan of Happy Tree Friends when I was a kid. It was a mixture of cute and deadly that made people laugh and squeal. Well turns out they are making a new series called Dr. Tran. I watched an episode and found it quite amusing. Sort of different from their previous work, but interesting nontheless.

This is the lastest episode: Season 2, Episode 1. More on youtube.

2-D in Real Life

This is a story about a man named Nisan. He’s your average everyday man with everyday needs. He has a job and lives at home with his beloved for the past 3 years. The two are inseparable, theirs no way either one of them are going to leave each other for any reason no matter what. Why do I say that? Well let’s just say it’s intuition.

 Nisan and Nemutan

His loves name is Nemutan; a 2-D anime character from an adult rated PC game Da Capo plastered onto a pillow sheet. This 70$ love is as real as real can be perceived as. “She’s great for falling asleep with on an office chair.” He knows it’s odd for an 37 year old balding man to be in love with a 2-D character, but he can’t imagine his life without Nemutan. “When I die, I want to be buried with her in my arms.”

They take pictures of themselves underneath the cherry blossoms, frolick like children on merry-go-rounds and eat noodles at restaurants. After being three years together he proudly admits, “I’ve experienced so many amazing things because of her,” Nisan told me, rubbing Nemutan’s leg warmly. “She has really changed my life.”

Now this may sound odd to most of us, but this is more normal than you think. Nisan is part of a thriving subculture of men and women in Japan who indulge in real relationships with imaginary characters. They are called 2-D lovers, a form of an otaku culture — the obsessive fandom that has surrounded anime, manga and video games. Some 2-D lovers go to work, pay rent, hang out with friends. Unlike most otaku though, they have real romantic feelings for their toys. The less extreme might have a hidden collection of figurines based on anime characters that they go on “dates” with during off hours. A more serious 2-D lover, like Nisan, actually believes that a lumpy pillow with a drawing of a prepubescent anime character on it is his girlfriend.

Hatsune Miku VN02

I never thought their would be a day where I would look at plastic figures and go “I really want that!” I mean seriously, it seems so odd to me because of the fact I grew up making fun of barbie dolls. After all that harassment towards those plastic dolls, I have to succumb to the beautiful pose they possess. One thing to keep in mind, this is a whole new ball game compared to dolls, especially Barbies.

This here is the Hatsune Miku VN02 version. It’s basically a modded; beefed up Hatsune Miku. It’s beautiful and surprisingly “better” than the original. Of course this one is more serious, hardcore, and to the point. This is something worth getting and definitely worth looking at.

Figure ranges from $150-$300, well worth the monies.

Hatsune Miku V2 2

Hatsune Miku V2 3

Figma Miku

The original Hatsune Miku, this is just one of the many figures of her. Others may be better, others could make your eyes bleed.

As you can see, their are major differences, all for the better. Absolute beauty.

Check out Black Rock Shooter and Dead Master as well as they are part of the series of Vocaloid, and are worth looking into!

Thanks to Dannychoo for the images :)

Conan Dubs Anime

I’m a huge fan of Conan O’Brien, but unfortunately I don’t have cable to watch the show. My friend found a video of Conan and his pal Andy going to a voice over company that does the recording of anime from Japanese to English.

Perhaps the most hilarious clip I’ve seen in awhile, but of course Im a huge anime fan. Should be funny either way though :)
